-Special Exhibition:”War Experience Shown Through Pictures - Ms. Asako Hayano’s experience of the”End of War”,”Occupation”, and”Repatriation”

■Period: Now open (Until Thursday March 30)

-The Osaka Air Raids Peace Memorial Event

□A Graduation Ceremony to make up for lost time

Graduation certificates signed by the Director of Peace Osaka will be given to then sixth grade of elementary school children whose graduation ceremony was not held because of the First Osaka Air Raids

□Showing of two short movies,”Returning Home” and”Fireflies of the Blue Sea”, which both show the tragedy of war.

These movies were produced by the students of Naruto City Daiichi Junior High School Student Council, in Tokushima Prefecture.

A lecture will be also given by a teacher of the school.

■Date and Time: Sunday March 12

1:30pm: Graduation Ceremony to make up for lost time

2:00pm to 4:00pm: Lecture and Movie Showing

■Seating Capacity: 250 (Registration required)

-Spring Family Festival

War and peace-related animated movies will be shown for parents and children.

■Date and Time: Tuesday March 28 to Thursday March 30, Sunday April 2, Tuesday April 4 to Wednesday April 5

The Osaka Garden of Floral Culture will hold the popular event once again this year named “Japanese Plum Flower Viewing in Kotatsu”, which will warm you up both physically and mentally.

Kotatsu will be set up in the plum flower garden where about 300 trees of 100 kinds of plums are planted. You can enjoy flower viewing while putting your legs in the Kotatsu.

You can also take out drinks such as oshiruko and hot chocolate from”HONEYSUCKLE CAFE,”the garden’s cafe.

Why don’t you feel the coming of spring in the Osaka Garden of Floral Culture?

* 2017 Cherry Blossom Festival will be held at the Osaka Pref. Chikatsu-Asuka Museum

*”Fudoki no Oka”, adjacent to Chikatsu-Asuka Museum, is well known for its beautiful cherry blossoms, with about 400 planted cherry blossom trees.

In conjunction with the start of the cherry blossom season, the Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on Saturday March 25 and Sunday March 26.

During the festival, you can enjoy shopping at stands selling items such as local products from Mozu-Furuichi Kofungun - Ancient Tumulus Clusters area, as well as local vegetables, foods and drinks.

The exhibition room in the museum is admission free, and on Saturday March 25, a free lecture titled,”Thinking about the mentality of ancient people through *”Komochimagatama”will be given by a museum curator (2:00pm to 3:00pm).

There are other activities such as trying on ancient clothes and paper bag crafting using museum posters. Your participation would be greatly welcomed.

*”Fudoki no oka”: Field museums or parks that preserve historic sites including ruins

* Komochimagatama : Magatama is a crescent, ancient Japanese ornamental stone. Komochimagatama means the one with smaller analogues.
